What is microneedling?

Microneedling is a medical treatment that involves repeatedly pricking the skin with tiny sterilized needles. Creating these microwounds stimulates collagen production which results in smoother, more vibrant skin.

It’s one of our favorite skincare treatments at Lifted Aesthetics and is safe for all skin types.

Microneedling is the holy grail of skincare: It reduces fine lines and acne scars, improves uneven skin tone and large pores, minimizes the appearance of stretch marks and wrinkles, and even stimulates hair growth.

What to expect during and after your microneedling treatment

Before we begin, we’ll walk you through the process, explain any risks, and make sure you’re comfortable before moving forward with your treatment.

The procedure is minimally invasive. You’ll feel a little pressure and vibration and possibly a tickling sensation. We use a numbing cream to make it comfortable.

Over the next few days, your skin may be a little red or swollen, but products like makeup, gentle cleansers, SPF, and moisturizer are typically safe to use after 24 hours. You should avoid the sun as much as possible until your skin heals.

Are microneedling results permanent?

While microneedling offers noticeable improvements after just one session, maintenance sessions are recommended to sustain results.

For best results, we recommend starting your microneedling treatment with a series of three sessions one month apart, then 1-2 sessions per year for maintenance.
